 Ingredients
For the Smash Tacos
-
4 small flour tortillas
-
1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
-
4 slices American cheese (or cheddar)
-
1 cup shredded lettuce
-
½ cup pickles, sliced
-
½ small red onion, finely diced
For the Big Mac Sauce
-
½ cup mayonnaise
-
2 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tbsp yellow mustard
-
1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
-
½ tsp garlic powder
-
½ tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp paprika
-
Salt & pepper to taste
 Instructions
Step 1: Make the Big Mac Sauce
-
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
-
Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside in the fridge to chill.
Step 2: Prepare the Smash Tacos
-
Lay out the tortillas on a flat surface.
-
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions. Press each portion thinly and evenly onto one side of a tortilla (like a beef layer).
-
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
-
Place tortilla beef-side down, pressing slightly to smash the beef into the tortilla.
-
Cook for 3–4 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through.
-
Flip, then place a slice of cheese on the beef side. Let it melt while the tortilla gets golden and crispy.
Step 3: Assemble
-
Remove tacos from skillet.
-
Add shredded lettuce, diced onions, and sliced pickles on top.
-
Drizzle generously with Big Mac sauce.
-
Fold and serve immediately.
Tips & Variations
-
Cheese melt hack: Cover tacos with a lid after adding cheese to help it melt faster.
-
Spicy version: Add jalapeños or use spicy pickles.
-
Double-layer tacos: Stack two tortillas with beef in between for extra crunch.
-
Meal prep: Make the sauce ahead—it tastes even better after chilling for a few hours.
